WHAT CLASSES DO YOU OFFER?

Ballet, Jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern, tap, hip hop, modern, and pointe. Please see our dance styles page for more information.

We start students at the age of 3, and they have to be potty trained. If a child is 2 or 2.5 we will allow them to try the class, but most of the time they are not focused at the age.

Normally we place all students in age groups. For example: 3-4yrs, 5-6yrs, 7-9yrs and 10-13yrs. All students over 13yrs will be placed in an Open class. We do make exceptions and allowances according to skill level. Just because a student is 7 does not mean that they have to be in a 7-9yrs class if they are more advanced. Students will be accelerated if necessary.

Yes, each class has specific leotards that are required to keep all classes uniformed and discipline. Depending on the class and age group will determine the proper attire.

Yes. In June we have an end of the year recital which is usually held the 1st, 2nd or 3rd week in June depending on when school finishes.

The only students that participate in competition are the company dancers. These students have to audition in June. Once a student is accepted in company they are placed in their proper group. At this point they will have specific classes that will develop their training. (All company information will be found in the company section.) Regular students do not compete.

We hire only the most qualified instructors. All of our teachers have been in dance since they were of the age of 3 years old and have attained their Bachelor of Fine Arts. If they have not attained it yet, then they are current dance majors in pursuit of a BFA in dance.

Miami Dance Project Auditions are held during the summer. Students in our companies range from elementary to high school ages. This program has been developed to further the student’s dance training in all disciplines.

Classes are a minimum of 2 hours and rehearsals a minimum of 4 hours, usually taking place on Saturdays and Sundays.
