President & Founder
Barbara Delgado Acosta is the visionary and founding member of Miami Dance Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing dance classes and events for children and youth with disabilities. She has used her experience and passion for dance to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for youth and children who would otherwise not have access to dance programs.
Barbara’ s love for dance began when she was young and grew up learning various dance styles, including ballet, modern, and jazz. After becoming a trained dancer, she worked with several dance companies and studios before realizing the need for an inclusive dance program designed for children with disabilities.
Driven by this realization and passion for dance advocacy, Barbara founded Miami Dance Project to help children and youth with disabilities have the opportunity to express themselves, find their voice through movement, and gain confidence and joy in their abilities.
Since the establishment of Miami Dance Project Barbara and her team have been committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and empowers young people with disabilities. Today, the organization stands as a testament to Barbara’s s leadership and vision.
