The Miami Dance Project

Created in the spring of 2005, Miami Dance Project Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, whose purpose is to provide and increase opportunities for advancement in dance education and training for underprivileged children as well as serve as an outreach program to the diverse communities of South Florida by way of performance opportunities. This company allows a way for dancers to continue their profound dream to dance and perform, so that they will be able to make it a career. Miami Dance Project will not only provide the necessary tools for a dancer to find work in the field, but also allow students to surround themselves around a professional environment and help create a brighter future in dance.

Founder and Artistic Director, Barbara Delgado wanted to create various opportunities in order to give back to the community through her teaching and choreography. Qualified students for Miami Dance Project will be able to apply for scholarships and will be awarded not only for classes at New Image Dance Center but for students participation in nationally acclaimed dance programs.

In addition to the scholarship program, the Miami Dance Project foundation will produce professional production thus distributing a wide range of opportunities in performing professionally where few have previously existed. The foundation will then partner with other non-profit community groups and charities to further its goal and increase community exposure to the art form of dance. Through the positive affirmation, a group of extremely talented multicultural young dancers will bring diversity to our community.

Funds to support the Miami Dance Project Foundation will come from grants, private donations, corporate donors, sponsor membership dues, and ticket sales to various productions. All contributions are tax deductible.
